“Hey, remember, this is civil disobedience, we have to be civil.” –

Unidentified student protestor at NYU

Thanks to a few bloggers like Ezra Levant some of you may have already seen this obtuse fake-o-drama that apparently constitutes post-modern student protest. The protestors –obviously not focused on mid-terms or other practical student priorities, like serious drinking – were occupying one of the NYU buildings for some reason, likely a kind of Everestian “because it was there”. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can view the whole pathetic spectacle on Youtube.

Amidst a stream of formal-sounding psychobabble, one of the protestors came up with this week’s featured quote. Too bad he didn’t riff off Governor Blagojevich and compare himself to Gandhi.

If you want a real treat, check out the protestors’ site. You can’t help chuckling at the sophomoric (OK, they’re in university!) writing, as they try to sound mature and manifesto-ish. I imagine the sit-in will be suspended so the dudes can head to Cabo for spring break? Plenty of time to protest after.
